Job Summary

We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanic Specialist to keep our equipment and vehicles running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you’ll be the go-to expert for maintaining and repairing a wide range of garden machinery, supporting both horticultural and facilities operations.

You’ll work closely with our Grounds Superintendent and collaborate across teams to ensure everything from daily operations to special events runs smoothly.


What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines (mowers, blowers, trimmers) and garden equipment
  • Service and repair utility and electric vehicles, including golf carts
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain detailed service records
  • Fabricate and weld components to support projects
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months
  • Support events, construction, and special projects across the garden
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to keep operations running efficiently

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical repair or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of small engines and vehicle maintenance (diesel experience a plus)
  • Experience working with electric vehicles and diagnostics
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively
  • Comfort using computers for recordkeeping
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all seasons

Work Environment

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) with occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
  • Work both indoors (shop) and outdoors across garden grounds
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and equipment
